"Unleash, Imperial Dragon! Pure and free just like my heart, jump with all your might!"

Ayumu Yamato (山登あゆむ, Yamato Ayumu) (やまとあゆむ) is Sho Yamato 's younger brother. He joins the group during their return to the X-Zone. He used to behave like a maniac and ride without any control when riding MTB's until Koei taught him about control.

He rides the Idaten bike Imperial Dragon (インペリアルドラゴン, Inperiaru doragon).

Appearance[]

Ayumu has brown hair and blue eyes. He wears a light green checkered shirt with a light yellow sleeveless pullover and blue denim shorts. In X-Zone's hero ceremony, he wears dark blue shirt with a red ribbon on top and dark blue shorts and dark blue loafers. Despite his cute appearance, he goes mad when he rides his Idaten bike.

Personality[]

Ayumu is a cute, caring younger brother to Sho and he depends alot on Sho Yamato, Makoto Shido, Kakeru Sakamaki and Koei, Arthur. He wants to be a good MTB rider just like his brother. In Japanese, he calls Sho, "Oni-chan", which means he has a very close relation with his brother and also a very good friendship with Koei.

Story[]

Ayumo is a very early introducued character. He makes his first appearance in episode 1, where he was sleeping and then wakes up by Sho's shouting. They have a conversation and then Sho leaves. When Sho and his friends return from X-Zone to Japan, they return to their homes. Sho tries to convience Ayumu that he went to a place called "X-Zone" but Ayumu didn't believe him. Sho tries proving it to Ayumu by doing a stunt on the rooftop which he could do it in X-Zone easily, but fails on earth. When Sho does an Idaten Battle with possessed with dark emblem Jero, Ayumu borrows his friend's MTB and drives it like a maniac. He was about to have an accident but Sho saves him. After saving Ayumu, he, along with Makoto and Kakeru spectate the race. Sho uses his move "Idaten Jump!" and when Ayumu sees it, he was surpised and realises that Sho was telling the truth about X-Zone. The next day, when the Police Captain of X-Zone, who was also possessed by the dark emblem, challenged Sho to an Idaten Battle, Ayumu spectates and Sho wins. Due to the rain, the hidden message of going to X-Zone alternative way was revealed. It required 4 Idaten Bikes, but they were lacking 1 and that's where Imperial Dragon was sent to Japan. Ayumu spots it and others notice it, too. When they examine the bike, they realise that it's a small bike and it looks like it's made for a little kid. Ayumu asks Sho that if he can use the Imperial Dragon as it's small and it fits perfectly for him. Sho tries to deny, but Makoto and Kakeru agree on that and so does Sho later on. After this, Sho, Gabu, Makoto and Ayumu use their power of Idaten Bikes and return to X-Zone.

Role in the plot[]

Ayumu features regularly after episode 32. In his adventures of X-Zone, he became friends with Koei, eventually got control of his bike, improved his MTB skills, made a bond with his bike Imperial Dragon, he alone raced and defeated a bunch of Team X members on his own; winning his first ever race. He was part of the X-Zone's hero ceremony. Before returning to Japan, He and Koei have a heart candy friendly conversation and both say their goodbyes. In the end, he practices on his MTB along with Makoto, Kyoichi, Gabu and Tiga and races in the MTB Multiple X Racing.
